Johnny Harra, the son of a Preacher became interested in singing Elvis' songs in church at the age of 11. The song Johnny sang in church was "I Want To Be Free", which was Johnny's favorite song. In 1976, Elvis Presley stopped in at one of Johnny Harra's 'Elvis Tribute' shows for a few moments, and by the time Johnny noticed Elvis, Elvis was leaving but gave Johnny a thumbs up on his way out. Johnny regretted that he never got to meet the man he gave tribute to. At the very beginning of the film "This Is Elvis", Johnny reenacts the last moments of Elvis' life at Graceland, with Joe Esposito and Charlie Hodge. After filming was completed, it was Charlie Hodge who taught Johnny his Elvis stage presence to land a 6 million dollar contract in Vegas. Johnny Harra was also cast in the Elvis Sightings reenactments In 1976 Johnny Harra was featured in an article mistaken for Elvis in Denver when Elvis was also in Denver. Johnny was mistaken for Elvis on several different occasions. Johnny Harra was responsible for many of the Elvis sightings across America during Johnny's Tribute To Elvis tour. Johnny Harra later landed a multi-milion dollar contract to perform at the Silverbird in Las Vegas. Overall, Johnny had a career as an Elvis Tribute Artist spanning over 40 years. www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1Johnny's last show Johnny's REAL dream was to break out into his own, sadly that never happened. Even after death Johnny is still being compared to Elvis. Johnny Harra July 11, 1946 - March 30, 2011.
